How it's calculated

grade = Σ(score × weight) ÷ Σ(weight)

score = each component percentage, weight = its weight, Σ = sum over all components. Weights need not total 100% — they are normalised by the weight sum.

Common questions

Do the weights need to add up to 100 percent?

Ideally yes for a final grade, but the calculator can also show where you stand if some categories are still ungraded.

How is the GPA equivalent worked out?

The percent is mapped to a letter grade, then to the standard 4.0 scale point value for that letter.
