How it's calculated
cost = (distance ÷ MPG) × fuel price
distance = trip length, MPG = miles per gallon (fuel efficiency), fuel price = price per gallon. Metric path: litres used = distance ÷ 100 × (L/100 km), then × price per litre. Annual cost scales by yearly distance.
Common questions
Can I work in liters and kilometers?
Yes. The calculator accepts both US gallon and metric units for distance, efficiency, and price.
Does it estimate annual fuel spend?
Yes. Alongside the single-trip cost it can project an annual fuel bill from your usage.
