How it's calculated
men: EU = waist(in) + 16, UK = waist(in), label = W × L
waist = natural waist in inches, L = nearest standard inseam. Women's sizes are matched from a US/UK/EU chart to the closest waist measurement (chart-based).
Common questions
What does W x L mean on men's jeans?
W is the waist measurement in inches and L is the inseam length in inches, so 32 x 34 means a 32-inch waist and 34-inch inseam.
Are women's sizes the same across brands?
Not always. The calculator follows the ASTM standard, but vanity sizing means a given brand can run a size or two off.
