How it's calculated
annual = rate × periods per year
Any pay rate is first annualised (monthly×12, semi-monthly×24, biweekly×26, weekly×weeks/yr, daily and hourly via hours/wk and weeks/yr), then divided back to every other period.
Common questions
What is the difference between biweekly and semi-monthly?
Biweekly is every two weeks for 26 paychecks a year, while semi-monthly is twice a month for 24 paychecks. The per-check amounts differ.
Does PTO change the hourly rate?
Paid time off keeps your annual pay the same but is spread over fewer worked hours, which the calculator factors into the hourly figure.
