How it's calculated
mL = mcg ÷ C (C = concentration in mcg/mL)
mcg = dose in micrograms, C = solution concentration in micrograms per millilitre, mL = volume to draw. Reverse: mcg = mL × C.
Common questions
Why do I need the concentration to convert mcg to mL?
Micrograms measure mass and milliliters measure volume. Without knowing how many micrograms are dissolved in each milliliter, the two cannot be linked.
What does mcg/mL mean?
It is the concentration: the number of micrograms of drug present in every milliliter of the solution.
