- 5 to 8 percent. Simple rectangular runs with few cuts, like a plain subfloor or wall sheathing.
- 10 to 15 percent. Typical rooms with a few openings, doors, or windows. This is the sensible default.
- 15 to 20 percent. Complex layouts with lots of cutouts, angles, or curved sections, where more of each sheet ends up as scrap.
